softshadow

bio:

Softshadow is a sometimes-solo act of live-looping saxophone and spoken word, blending the likes of ambient soundscape, noisy free improvisation, and queer poetry. Performances are brimming with charged, electrified saxophone, but neurodivergent-friendly as listeners are encouraged to find a comfortable place to stand, sit, or lie down through blissful, contemplative headspaces. June is a trans dyke based in the London DIY scene since 2021, often performing with other poets, movement artists, visual programmers, and other improvising musicians to move, soothe, and stir soft emotions and sonic intensities. In 2025 she released ‘a rose’ on tape and digital through Rat Run Records, a DIY label. Listening, live video, and EPK are available at https://junekuhn.github.io/softshadow.
